On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned communication data and information recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over that period.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most covered child disappearance cases and is still unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

One voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm fat and plain like Madeleine was, but I feel what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's answerphone expressed: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a living here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," she added.

The panel was advised that via electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, transmitted childhood photos to her phone in a effort to show a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who collated the data, told the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the call data.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I will persist and I will prove my claim."

On the evening of the visit to their home, the defendant sent a message which expressed: "We find ourselves positioned adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark like investigators. I had hoped to achieve this with someone else I hadn't anticipated I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
