David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

An official for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles combined, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
