The former president's Family Member Gets Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of Professional Golf First Appearance

The young golfer can count on plenty of well-known cheerleaders as she begins her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, received a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

The former president, someone who loves golf, owns several courses worldwide and often plays against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we play competitive games," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply stay calm."

"He practically told me to go out there and have fun," she continued.

"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on world affairs, so he's quite busy."

Being non-professional, Kai has competed in only three events this year and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

But she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with Vanessa.

"He represents the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.

"And he's a more impressive human being. He advised me to play, have fun, following the flow."

Kai will face some of top competitors in the sport at the Annika, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence exposes the sport to new audiences, especially reaching younger fans.

The young star maintains substantial online presence and has started a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
